Online 2010 College Annual Report Profiles Ontario Teachers

Equipping Teachers for the 21st century, our 2010 online annual report, honours Ontario Certified Teachers who are taking College-accredited Additional Qualification (AQ) courses in record numbers.

Whether they're acquiring strategies to help new Canadian students to learn English or researching how to create inclusive classrooms, College members profiled in this report are as committed to learning as they are to teaching.

As always, the College's annual report provides a wealth of statistical information about Ontario Certified Teachers.

Visit Equipping Teachers for the 21st century for access to detailed information on Ontario teachers including key demographic data, teacher qualifications, and where and how Ontario teachers are educated.

With just the click of a mouse, the College's annual report also provides you with our review of Council and College activities, committee reports for 2010, and resources.

The online report is a timely, environmentally responsible and cost-effective way for the College to provide you, stakeholders, the public and the media access to current information on Ontario's teaching profession.

Celebrating National Aboriginal Day

Dancing, drumming and singing filled the College's Council chambers for a National Aboriginal Day celebration this week.

Joseph Roy, OCT, who teaches native languages at Eastview Junior Public School in Scarborough, made a presentation on Empowering Aboriginal Youth Through Language to the Standards of Practice and Education committee. Roy's students shared the meaning of National Aboriginal Day through colourful singing, dancing and drumming.

View photos of the celebration on our Facebook site. You can access the photos even if you don't have a Facebook account. If you do have an account, Like our page so you can get up-to-date alerts about College initiatives and provide input on a variety of topics.
